Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Security Officer to protect university and hospital personnel, patients, students, visitors and assets. You will patrol fixed posts or roam campuses, verify IDs, escort unauthorized persons, and respond to emergencies across campus and facilities.

The role requires shifting across various times, weather conditions, and rotating duties. Prior security experience is preferred; training and collaboration with trauma and safety teams are key components.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and ability to understand SRC responsibilities and security tech.
• Capable of running one city block and physically subduing an unruly/violent individual.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and rotate between shifts.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff in line with Jefferson values.
• Performs security patrols at fixed posts or on patrol; checks IDs and escorts unauthorized persons off campus.
• Responds to calls for service; notifies supervisor of conditions; may diffuse emergencies.
• Investigates and documents reports on accidents or suspicious activities; maintains patrol logs.
• Assists employees, students, patients, and visitors; provides security escorts as needed.
• Assist with campus parking issues and patrol parking lots/equipment.
• Supports safety teams and trauma team during emergencies; enforces no smoking policies.
• Performs related security, safety, and protection duties, including loss prevention and training of new staff.
