Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is seeking a full-time Anesthesia Associate to support our team of anesthesia providers and contribute to patient safety during critical moments. You will rotate across OR, MRI, GI Lab, Cath Lab, EP Lab, and IR suites, assisting in Trauma and Transplant procedures and preparing rooms and equipment for anesthesia.

A High School Diploma or GED is required, with 6 months to 1 year of healthcare experience preferred; Act 34 clearance is expected.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 6 months–1 year health care experience preferred.
• If no prior hospital training, must demonstrate knowledge/skills to progress to Anesthesia Technician within 6–12 months of hire.
• Act 34 clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Work varied shifts including weekday and weekend evenings and nights to support patient care 24/7.
• Assist in Trauma and Transplant procedures and related tasks (rapid blood infusion, difficult airway assistance, cell salvage, jet ventilation).
• Prepare rooms, equipment and supplies for anesthesia procedures to ensure smooth patient flow.
• Troubleshoot critical equipment (anesthesia gas machines, patient monitors).
• Maintain stock levels and organize surgical suites for quick turnaround between cases.
• Clean, decontaminate and sterilize anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Support anesthesia providers across OR, MRI, GI Lab, Cath Lab, EP Lab, and IR suites.
