Responsibilities
Maintains anesthesia supplies and drugs by establishing inventory levels.
Transport gas machines and anesthesia equipment to and from locations.
Assist with offsite anesthesia cases.
Distribute medications to anesthesia providers for patient care.
Communicate effectively with operating room staff for assignments.
Remains accessible in operating rooms at all times.
Disassemble, decontaminate and sterilize anesthesia equipment.
Retrieve and distribute equipment for preparing patients for anesthesia.
Stock necessary supplies in surgical suites.
Operate Blood Cell Saver.
Minimize downtime between cases during room turnover.
Prepare, test, and set up anesthetic equipment for surgical use.
Troubleshoot and maintain equipment, performing necessary repairs.
Support anesthesia providers with IVs and central venous lines.
Deliver blood samples to the lab and retrieve blood products.
Perform diagnostic lab assays/testing procedures as competency approved.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the workroom.
Assist with specialty room setups.
Manage difficult airway situations.
Keep accurate records and reports.
