Job summary

The Portland Timbers Academy is seeking an Academy Goalkeeper Coach to lead and develop the club's GK program within the coaching framework established by the Academy and the Timbers professional GK staff. The role involves designing training sessions, tailoring development for individual goalkeepers, and coordinating with the GK staff to support high-performance delivery.

Key duties include on-field GK coaching across exhibitions, regular season, playoffs and tournaments, opposition scouting

Qualifications

• Coaching qualifications and certifications are required.

• Develop a common language and culture across coaches.
• Keep up with technology in performance analysis.
• Develop recruiting skills to improve team competitiveness.

Responsibilities

• Coach goalkeepers in all academy matches and delivery sessions.
• Design individual training regimens within team framework.
• Scout next opponents and debrief goalkeepers.
• Contribute to on-field set-piece strategy and design.
• Plan and deliver training for Academy and Discovery Program.
• Coordinate with MLS Next Pro GK coaches on related projects.
