Actalent is seeking a Elisa Lab Technician in Branchburg, NJ. You will manufacture products per GMP, handle materials and perform diverse testing while maintaining strict records. The role requires basic biology lab experience and strong pipetting skills.

The position is onsite with a 35-hour workweek and a 8:00–4:30 schedule, with Friday half-day. Benefits include medical, 401(k), life and more. Contract-to-hire opportunity in a scientific setting.

Qualifications

• Academic biology lab experience and safe handling of materials.
• Strong pipetting and sample preparation skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce kits promptly in accordance with GMP and supervisor directions.
• Ensure raw materials are available; coordinate with vendors for pricing and delivery.
• Maintain production records and follow document control procedures.
• Perform testing procedures including plate variability and antigen evaluation.
• Maintain a clean, safe lab; follow waste handling guidelines and equipment upkeep.
• Review kit data to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Assist Technical Services with troubleshooting and customer-related testing.
• Collaborate with R&D to transition new products into production.
• Participate in annual physical inventory.

Job Title: Elisa Lab Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the manufacture of products in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all kits are produced promptly and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Procedures, as directed by the supervisor and based on product sales and customer orders.
• Ensure availability of all raw materials needed for production, including chemicals, antigens, serums, and plasmas. Interact with vendors to determine pricing and coordinate delivery schedules.
• Adhere to Document Control Documents and maintain neat and accurate Production Records.
• Perform various testing procedures such as plate variability, pouch seal testing, bulk testing, antigen optimization, serum screening, and evaluation of new raw materials.
• Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment, follow waste handling guidelines, monitor temperature, and ensure equipment maintenance.
• Review all kit data thoroughly to ensure production of quality and consistent products.
• Assist Technical Services in troubleshooting problems, facilitate sample and kit testing in response to customer complaints or requirements.
• Collaborate with R&D to transition new products into Production.
• Participate in annual physical inventory.

Essential Skills

• Academic biology lab experience.
• Sample preparation and pipette experience.
• Experience with glassware, labware, and lab equipment.
• Proficiency in pipetting, sterility testing, and visual inspection.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree (Bachelor's degree in Biology preferred).
• Background in Science with required lab experience.
• Ability to read and follow written directions.
• Basic working knowledge of Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, and aseptic technique.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including dilutions.
• Good laboratory practices for a safe working environment.
• Proficiency in operating and maintaining machines such as automated plate washers, readers, and pH meters.
• Basic computer skills.

Work Environment

The position follows a 35-hour workweek, with hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Fridays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Branchburg, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
