Job summary

Health Advocates is seeking an Eligibility Worker I to be based at a client hospital in Rancho Cordova, CA, with occasional travel to the Sacramento site as needed. The role focuses on screening for governmental benefits and completing applications.

The position offers paid training, full-time hours, and comprehensive benefits. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• 1-2 years’ experience in customer service and/or office experience (e.g. call center/office or hospital, clinical or other healthcare environment) or any combo of experience, education or training
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
• Basic office skills and computer literacy required
• Ability to adapt and manage change in a fast-paced environment
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean DMV record
• Reliable vehicle with current auto insurance
• Must be able to type 30 wpm

Responsibilities

• Screen patients by telephone or bedside to determine eligibility
• Complete applications for government benefits
• Follow up with patients, families, and county workers for successful completion of cases
• Submit applications to appropriate offices
• Update information in hospital computer system
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Summary

Eligibility Workers help qualify patients/claimants for governmental benefits (Medi-Cal, VOC, SSI/SSDI, TPL, etc.) within established guidelines. Responsibilities include telephone or bedside screening, completing applications, following up with patient/family and county workers for successful completion of cases, submitting applications to appropriate offices, updating information in hospital computer database, and perform other duties as assigned.

Working Title: Case Manager I
Pay rate: $21.75-$28.00 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Position Type: Full-time; Non-exempt

Schedule: Alternative Work Week Schedule - Mon-Thurs 6:30 am-4:00 pm & Fri 6:30 am-11:30 am
Testing: We conduct assessment testing and post offer background checks
