Job summary

OneOncology is seeking an Eligibility Verification and Benefit Specialist to join our Practice Management team. You will verify all new patients and identify any benefit issues using electronic verification systems, ensuring accurate data before appointments.

Responsibilities include flagging at-risk accounts, documenting findings in the EMR, coordinating with staff on payer changes, and helping patients understand coverage and self-pay implications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in a directly related role preferred, but not required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficient use of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with EMR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify new patients entering the Practice Management system.
• Identify benefit issues using electronic verification system.
• Flag accounts with potential benefit issues and notify staff.
• Handle referrals and enter documentation into Patient Management system.
• Maintain knowledge of Coordination of Benefits and payer requirements.
• Communicate insurance changes and patient self-pay status to the team.
