Job summary

The Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation (LLR) of the State of South Carolina is seeking a qualified professional to conduct investigations and audits of inspections for elevators, escalators, moving walks, and related equipment. You will inspect new installations and prepare reports with recommended citations.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma with investigative experience; a bachelor’s degree may substitute. Travel within the Upstate and statewide may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's may substitute for experience.
• Experience in investigations or law enforcement is preferred.
• Knowledge of elevator and amusement ride safety codes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations and audits of elevator, escalator, and amusement ride inspections.
• Inspect new installations and alterations of elevators and related equipment.
• Submit written reports and recommend citations for violations.
• Report findings and conduct follow-up reviews of deficiencies.
• Promote safe assembly and operation of equipment.
