Qualifications

• 2–4 years of Sommelier experience in an upscale, high-volume restaurant.
• WSET certifications preferred or certifications from another accredited wine institution preferred
• Extensive knowledge of wine and wine service techniques
• Availability to work nights, weekends & holidays
• A passion for providing exemplary guest service
• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency

Responsibilities

• Assist guests with wine, sake and champagne selection, guided by taste and budget
• Anticipate guest needs and provide information on venues, menus and pricing
• Explain how wines and champagnes complement menu items
• Ensure correct presentation and pouring techniques per company standards
• Inform guests of alternative selections if their first choice is unavailable
• Provide engaged, friendly, attentive service to all guests
• Follow safety and regulatory requirements (DOH and liquor boards)
