Job summary

Advanced Optronics is seeking a hands-on Sensor Test Engineer to own characterization and validation of MEMS devices and the supporting test systems. You will build robotic test beds, automate metrology, and maintain readout electronics while collaborating with R&D and production teams.

The ideal candidate has strong mechatronics skills, experience with Python and C/C++ firmware, and a track record designing automated test setups.

Qualifications

• Master’s (preferred) or Bachelor’s with 3+ years relevant work experience in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• Experience designing automated test setups combining mechanics, electronics, and software.
• Hands-on mechatronics experience with motion control, machine vision, test instrumentation, and CAD for fixtures.
• Proficient in reading and changing C/C++ firmware; strong signal processing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and automate metrology and characterization setups including mechanical and electrical characterization.
• Write Python to control instruments, motion control, and machine vision.
• Debug and improve analog front end and microcontroller firmware; bring up new test boards.
• Help production tooling by designing jigs and fixtures to speed up production.
