Craven County Schools at James W. Smith Elementary in Cove City, NC is seeking a part-time Tutor to support reading and math development for elementary students.

The role reports to the Principal and Assistant Principal and emphasizes collaborative instructional planning, data-driven instruction, and maintaining student confidentiality while working with a diverse student population. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher from regionally accredited college or university.
• Three years’ successful classroom teaching.
• Licensed as a teacher in North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to implement instructional strategies.
• Assist children, aged kindergarten through fifth grade in development of reading and math skills.
• Engage in academic activities with select students in one-on-one or small group.
• Utilize assessment information to guide instructional design and progress.
• Assist in analyzing data relative to the impact on activities and student achievement.
• Maintain confidentiality of data and information.
