Winterset CSD is seeking an Elementary School Tutor to support students who struggle to meet grade targets under guidance from classroom teachers. The role involves direct instruction, small-group support, and data-informed planning aligned to Iowa Core and district standards.

The tutor will collaborate with teachers, maintain records, and adhere to district policies while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and positive relationships within the school community.

Qualifications

• Valid Iowa Teaching Certificate – applicable to posting.
• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• Good communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct instruction to students in individual and small group settings.
• Uses identified student needs to guide the learning process toward district standards.
• Establishes clear objectives for lessons using formal/informal assessments.
• Uses diverse instructional strategies suited to student needs and standards.
• Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for student maturity.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates learning as per district curriculum expectations.
• Maintains accurate records and enforces rules/behavior fairly.
• Communicates with classroom teachers regarding student progress and conducts conferences.
• Adheres to district policies and expected practices.
• Demonstrates Iowa Teaching Standards and engages in professional development.
