Job summary

EAST HARTFORD PUBLIC SCHOOLS seeks an Elementary Tutor to support students with basic skills during a six-hour school day. This hourly role runs for ten months and reports to the Principal, aligning with state grant objectives for dropout prevention, early childhood education, and parent involvement.

The tutor will reinforce study and organizational skills, tutor small groups, and engage with parents while assisting students under teacher direction in a structured program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Direct classroom experience with children, pre-K to twelve, preferred.

Reports To: Principal

JOB GOAL

Provides support to specialized area of instruction as specified in the State of Connecticut Priority School District Grant, i.e. dropout prevention, early childhood education and parent involvement. Areas of involvement are teacher directed student academic reinforcement activities, school homework program, testing, home/school relations, verbal and document translation, assisting suspended and expelled students, study and organizational skills, conflict resolution and peer mediation.
