Job summary

The New Philadelphia City Schools is seeking multiple part-time Reading Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. You will provide targeted small group reading intervention to elementary students, utilizing evidence-based literacy strategies under a one-year contract.

Requirements include a K-12 reading endorsement or a master’s degree in reading/literacy, Praxis 5205, and a valid PK-3/4-9/K-12 license issued after July 1, 2017.

Qualifications

• Must hold a K-12 reading endorsement or a master's degree with a major in reading or literacy.
• Must pass Praxis 5205 (formerly 5203) or equivalent.
• License PK-3, 4-9, or K-12 intervention specialist issued on or after July 1, 2017.
• Part-time position with no health insurance benefits.

Responsibilities

• Provide small group reading intervention to students at an elementary building.
• Work on literacy instruction as part of a one-year contract.

Education

Job description

The New Philadelphia City Schools is seeking multiple part‑time Reading Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year.

The successful candidates must meet one or more of the following qualifications:

• Have a K-12 reading endorsement
• Completed a master's degree with a major in reading or literacy
• Earned a passing score on a rigorous test of principles of scientifically research‑based reading instruction (Praxis 5205-formerly Praxis 5203)
• Holds an applicable license (PK-3, 4-9, or K-12 intervention specialist) issued on or after July 1, 2017

The successful applicants will be awarded a one year contract and will be responsible to provide small group intervention to students at one of our elementary buildings.

These are part‑time positions for 5.75/hrs each day, Monday through. Friday. The positions do not include health insurance benefits.
