Job description

Start Date: July 31st for the 2025-2026 School Year

Position Type: Full-time, 169 days per year

Location: McKinley Elementary School

Salary: Pay for this position is determined by the 169-day Teacher Salary Schedule and based on education and experience. Salary Range $44,739-$75,161.

QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS:

  • Valid Colorado Teacher License, endorsement in computer science is preferred, however strong knowledge or experience in instructional technology will be considered.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • Experience with Blended Learning methods preferred.
  • Knowledge of Colorado Academic Computer Science Standards
  • Knowledge of ISTE and NGSS Standards around technology use and implementation in the classroom.
  • Ability to assist with Chromebook and/or network troubleshooting and support or equivalent is preferred.
  • Work requires analytical and evaluative skills; determining solutions to technical problems using standards and common practices.
  • Must be willing to learn and incorporate lessons on topics such as basic computer programing, robotics, cyber security and AI.
  • Must be willing to learn new technology and stay current on technology trends and implementations.
  • Must be willing to be part of the technologists’ team teaching with classroom teachers for blended learning and project based learning at all grade levels including preschool students as well.
  • Strong knowledge of literacy development, instructional programs and practices, and assessment.
  • Ability to create and implement cross-curricular technology lessons to support school and district initiatives.
  • Ability to create a positive learning environment for elementary-aged children.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical.
  • Ability to read and write to comply with directions and instructions to complete tasks and establish priorities.
  • Possess skills to utilize basic technology as directed by the District to communicate and function effectively.
  • Integrity, trust, and work ethic are required to work with little supervision.
  • Implements appropriate physical and technical safeguards to protect district data's confidentiality, integrity and availability.
  • Maintains good security practices with passwords and accounts to the various district systems and applications.
  • Reports actual or suspected breaches in the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of district data to appropriate district personnel.
  • Follows all board policies for acceptable use of district technology.
  • Model the District's Mission and Belief Statements.
  • Other duties as assigned.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teachers are held to high expectations for their performance to ensure the success of the individual and the District in serving students and the community.Teachers are held to the District’s Licensed Personnel Performance Evaluation System that consists of the State’s Quality Standards, elements, and performance indicators which point to fulfillment of the teaching responsibility.A teacher’s demonstrated effectiveness is based on the following standards:

Quality Standard II: Teachers establish a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for a diverse population of students.
