Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, CE, or CEAS in Elementary School Teacher K-6.

Responsibilities

• Plans a program of study that meets students' individual needs, interests, and abilities.
• Evaluate student progress regularly and prepare progress reports.
• Instructs students in citizenship, basic communications skills, and other elements of the course of study as required by law and regulations.
• Provides individual, small, and/or large group instruction to adapt the curriculum for students with varying abilities.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior for an orderly, productive environment.
• Develops instructional plans and organizes class time for a balanced program.
• Supervises activities and coordinates work of aides and paraprofessionals.
• Communicates with parents and staff on student progress.
