Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Alabama teaching certificate in the grade level, subject area(s) assigned.
• Ability to meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication.
• Effective interpersonal skills with diverse groups to maximize student achievement.
• Ability to develop and implement curriculum for designated grade level and content areas.
• Ability to solve problems as a productive team member.
• Ability to use technology to communicate, plan instruction, and manage data.
• Punctuality and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities.
• Demonstrates knowledge of child development and characteristics of students in the age group assigned.
• Applies knowledge of curriculum, educational research and tech tools to achieve meaningful outcomes.
• Uses technology to plan and provide instruction and facilitate student learning.
• Models and facilitates the integration of technology in the classroom.
• Maintains safe, orderly environment for learning.
• Provides instruction and modifications for students with special needs.
• Organizes materials and routines for effective instructional time and admin tasks.
• Instructs and supervises student teachers, volunteers and paraprofessionals when assigned.
• Uses ongoing assessment and data to inform instructional planning and program evaluation.
• Communicates progress to students, parents and colleagues clearly and responsibly.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding student/school/workplace matters.
• Participates in state-approved evaluation programs and school activities.
