Job summary

Legacy Traditional Schools is seeking a General Education Teacher in Arizona to inspire students toward academic excellence and growth. The role emphasizes engaging instruction, collaboration with peers, and ongoing professional development.

You will implement diverse instructional activities, assess curricular needs, maintain records, and communicate with families. A valid AZ SEI endorsement or ability to obtain within six months is required, along with a Bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• SEI Endorsement or eligibility required or obtainable within 6 months in AZ.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructional activities to engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources for diverse learners including those with special needs.
• Utilize direct instruction to promote social, physical and intellectual growth appropriate for primary students.
• Assist in assessing curricular needs and propose improvement plans.
• Maintain accurate records and communicate with students, parents, and professionals.
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
• Model professional and ethical standards with students and families.
• Ensure student growth aligns with age, subject area, and program.
• Participate in training and staff meetings and meet deadlines.
• Be active on campus, coordinate meetings, and travel to other campuses as required.
• Attend events outside regular hours and perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
• Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for primary school success!
• Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offers plans for improvement.
• Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.
• Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.
• Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.
• Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
• Participate in training and staff meetings.
• Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules and coordinating meetings as needed.
• Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments.
• Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives.
• Be active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required.
• Participate in events outside of normal hours.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications That Set You Up for Success

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Valid SEI Endorsement/Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment in AZ only. The incumbent in this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.

• A current teaching certificate from within the state position is located.
