Job summary

Montessori Preparatory School in Ocala, FL is hiring a full-time Elementary Teacher Assistant to support our elementary lead teachers (grades 1–5). The school serves children from infancy through middle school and emphasizes a calm, respectful environment that encourages exploration and independence.

Pay is $16.50 per hour with work hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Montessori training is offered, and the school supports ongoing professional growth as part of an expanding program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Florida DCF 40-hour introductory childcare training completed or willingness to complete it.
• Pass a Level 2 background screening for Florida schools.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Warm, patient and professional with children and families.

Responsibilities

• Support elementary lead teachers in daily classroom instruction and routines.
• Work with individual students and small groups on reading and math practice.
• Help keep the classroom positive and orderly through consistent, respectful classroom management.
• Prepare, organize, and restore Montessori materials.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and dismissal.
• Observe students and share progress notes with the lead teacher.
• Encourage independence, responsibility, and respect.
• Take part in staff meetings, school events, and professional development.
