Job summary

About the Role: As a 5th Grade Teacher, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping students bridge the transition from elementary to middle school. This year is about strengthening academic skills, fostering independence, and supporting social-emotional growth, all while celebrating learning and community.

Qualifications

You will:

• Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned to Minnesota Academic Standards
• Teach using high-quality curriculum, including: Math Expressions (math). Wonders (literacy) FOSS (science), and TCI (social studies)
• Intentionally teach social-emotional learning using the Fly Five SEL curriculum, helping students develop empathy, responsibility, self-management, and collaboration skills
• Use Responsive Classroom practices to build a positive, inclusive classroom culture
• Support students’ academic readiness and social-emotional development as they prepare for middle school
• Collaborate with grade-level colleagues and contribute to school-wide initiatives
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
• Communicate openly and effectively with students, families, and colleagues
