Job summary

The State College Area School District is seeking an Elementary STEM Teacher to join the district-wide program in STATE COLLEGE, Pennsylvania. The role focuses on building relationships with students and collaborating with colleagues to provide equitable, inclusive STEM education for K-5 learners.

The successful candidate will use the Engineering Design Process, incorporating coding, 3-D printing, design, and robotics into engaging projects and activities.

The State College Area School District is currently accepting applications for an Elementary STEM Teacher.

The ability to establish relationships with students and collaborate with colleagues is critical to success in this position. The District seeks dynamic educators who are student-focused and have knowledge of both theory and practice specific to the education of STEM learners.The elementary program (K-5) uses the Engineering Design Process to engage students in applying problem-solving strategies and skills to classroom assignments and real-world scenarios. Many projects include coding, 3-D printing and design, and robotics.

Organizational and collaborative skills are critical to success in this position. The ideal candidate will possess a growth mindset and a willingness to learn alongside students, as new technologies and tools emerge. Cross-curricular collaboration is an important component of this position.
