DON R. ROBERTS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Little Rock, AR is seeking a Speech/Language Pathologist. You will identify, diagnose, and remediate communication disorders affecting student progress, with responsibilities spanning assessments, IEP development, and collaboration with families and staff.

The role features a 9.25-month contract with a benefits package; placement depends on experience and LRSD guidelines. Candidates must meet AR certification requirements and have strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • 2–5 years of related experience in the field.
  • Must meet Arkansas certification requirements and Licensure.
  • Knowledge of IDEA 2004 and due process procedures.
  • Understanding of educational theory and child development in speech.

Responsibilities

  • Attends and assists in referral, assessment and placement conferences.
  • Coordinates assessments of auditory and communicative abilities.
  • Develops IEP based on assessment information.
  • Implements speech therapy services per IEP and communicates with parents.
  • Monitors progress and conducts program reviews with staff and parents.
  • Participates in in-service programs and performs other duties as assigned.
