Winnetka Public Schools is seeking a Speech/Language Pathologist for a long-term substitute position at Crow Island Elementary School in Winnetka District 36. The role focuses on evaluating students, delivering therapy, and collaborating with staff, parents, and administrators.

The candidate will participate in IEP teams, provide direct and indirect therapy services, and ensure documentation aligns with district policies. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Current Professional Educator's License (PEL) with Speech/Language Pathologist endorsement.
• CCC required; IDPR license preferred.
• Holds or is eligible for Illinois SLP teaching license.
• Knowledge of special education laws, rules, and regulations.
• Knowledge of speech-language development and pathology to identify communication disorders and develop programs.

Responsibilities

• Observe, describe, and refer suspected speech/language impairments.
• Evaluate students through IEP Evaluation Review process.
• Serve on Multidisciplinary Evaluation Team for placement decisions.
• Provide speech/language therapy and progress reporting.
• Coordinate with teachers, parents, and other staff.
• Share information and in-service training on speech and language development.
• Coordinate with community agencies regarding resources.
• Participate in or develop an annual IEP for eligible students.
• Document services per district policies.
