Wauwatosa School District seeks a Long-term Substitute Speech/Language Therapist for Underwood Elementary School, serving roughly 276 students. The role supports speech/language services for 4K–5th grade students and ensures continuity of instruction in the absence of regular staff.

Start date is November 30, 2026, with anticipated term through February 26, 2027, and daily hours 7:45 am to 3:45 pm. Pay is prorated from $190 per day, with Edustaff coordinating onboarding and support.

Qualifications

• Wisconsin DPI teaching certification is required.
• Strong content knowledge, with the ability to teach high school students.
• Ability to differentiate instruction in mixed-ability classrooms.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively and in writing.
• Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Follows lesson plan left by the teacher for whom you are substituting.
• Maintains a conducive learning environment.
• Maintains a safe environment and protects students, staff, and property.
• Keeps student and staff information confidential.
• Supervises students inside and outside the classroom.
• Assists with supervision during drills, assemblies, and recess.
• Respects multicultural and multilingual values and environments.
• Maintains high expectations for self and students.
• Performs clerical tasks (e.g., attendance).
• Demonstrates computer literacy and uses related software.
• Models respectful citizenship for students.
• Remains free of alcohol or non-prescribed substances in the workplace.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
