Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid MA DESE licensure in Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders (All Levels).
• Knowledge of Massachusetts and federal special education regulations.
• Experience in educational settings with school-aged students who have speech and language disorders.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Provide speech-language services at the elementary level (caseload to be determined).
• Evaluate referred students and interpret diagnostic testing; present findings at meetings.
• Provide evidence-based intervention appropriate to each student’s needs.
• Use service delivery models in the least restrictive environment; serve other students as needed.
• Maintain liaison with families, teachers, and administrators.
• Develop educationally relevant therapy goals for IEPs.
• Contribute to staff professional development and in-service training.
• Supervise speech and language assistants and monitor performance.
• Monitor progress and document IEP goals and therapy sessions.
• Provide AAC systems for individuals with communication disorders.
• Consult and/or provide direct services to meet student and system needs.
• Complete documentation per federal, state, and local requirements.
