Qualifications

• Active Alabama SPED license required or clearly eligible
• Experience in elementary special education preferred, especially behavior support classrooms
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation and compliance
• Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, therapists and families
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and classroom management skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals
• Create and maintain a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment
• Implement behavior intervention plans and utilize evidence-based strategies
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate on data-driven interventions with the multidisciplinary team
• Support students in developing self-regulation, coping skills and academic foundations
