Job summary

Lubbock-Cooper ISD is seeking an Elementary SPED Teaching Assistant to support students with disabilities at Lubbock-Cooper West Elementary. The role involves assisting with IEP implementation, self-help skills, behavior support, and instructional activities under a certified teacher.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, Texas educational aide certificate, and at least two years of experience with children.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
Possess at least an associate’s degree or two years of college coursework.
Valid Texas educational aide certificate is required.
Ability to work with children with disabilities.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Two years of experience working with children.

Responsibilities

Assist with meeting the individual needs of students including physical support and personal care as needed.
Assist with implementing IEPs, including self-help, behavior management, and instructional activities.
Support student engagement and learning under supervision of a certified teacher.
Monitor and assist with daily classroom routines and transitions.
Maintain confidentiality and follow district safety protocols.
