Job summary

Musselman Learning Center in Norristown, PA, seeks an Elementary Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Immediate start with full‑time schedule, Mon-Fri, 7.5 hours daily. Join a collaborative district program focused on inclusive education and IEP-driven instruction.

The role requires PA Elementary Special Education certification, teamwork, and strong interpersonal skills. Bilingual Spanish preferred; clearance certificates are required.

Qualifications

• PA Certification in Elementary Special Education.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.
• Bilingual in Spanish Preferred.
• Must be courteous and able to deal effectively with people
• Must be cooperative, congenial, and self-motivated
• Ability to complete task and run a classroom with minimal supervision
• Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.

Responsibilities

• Provide an appropriate program of education and training for the students.
• Utilize the abilities, skills and talents of all members of the team to the fullest in educating the students.
• Prepare lesson plans in accord with the students' IEPs.
• Develop, write, and implement IEPs.
• Administer individual diagnostic tests to assess the students' educational achievement.
• Provide classroom management based on principles of child development and behavior modification techniques.
• Progress monitor goals and report student progress reports to parents.
• Work effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
• Develop professional relationships and a supportive climate which facilitates inclusion of the special education student.
• Experience with ABA techniques preferred.
• Conduct, write, and implement FBAs and PBSPs.
• Work collaboratively with consultants from PaTTAN through the Autism Initiative.
• Assume additional duties as assigned by the program supervisor.
