Qualifications

• Bachelor’s level degree in Special Education required.
• PA certification in Special Education is required.
• Content area certifications preferred.
• Prior experience working with students with behavioral health challenges within a school setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Special Education Teacher: provides academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in a school setting; monitors student academic and functional achievement through data collection, observation, and other quantitative methods; observes and records student progress daily; develops and monitors student’s IEP, reports, goals, objectives, attend IEP meetings, establish, maintain, and work toward student goals as outlined in the IEP; manages student behavior through individualized motivational systems, S.M.A.R.T. Program and positive behavior support plans.
