Job summary

LEARN Academy in Phoenix is seeking an Elementary Special Education Teacher to support students in Kinder through 5th grade with a caseload under 20. You will assess needs, develop IEPs, and tailor instruction to various disabilities.

You will collaborate with general education staff, families, and related service providers, monitor progress, participate in IEP meetings, and pursue ongoing PD in MTSS/RTI to promote students' success.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in special education or related field.
Current ADE certification is required.
Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint card required.

Responsibilities

Assess students' abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to their unique needs.
Adapt general education lessons and teaching techniques to meet the needs of students with various disabilities.
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Prepare and organize classroom activities, educational materials, and assistive technologies to create an effective learning environment.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and IEPs as necessary.
Manage classroom behavior, implementing positive behavior support strategies when needed.
Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights on student progress and recommending appropriate interventions.
Engage in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Support early intervening services by participating in MTSS or RTI initiatives.
Advocate for students' needs and rights, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and services.
Complete academic assessments as directed by school site.
