Job summary

Sand Springs Public Schools in Sand Springs, OK seeks a 2024-2025 Elementary SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER for Pratt Elementary to provide instruction to emotionally/physically disabled students. This exempt, 180-day position reports to the Building Principal and Director of Special Services.

The teacher will modify the general curriculum, assess progress, maintain records, and collaborate with families and staff to implement BIPs/FBAs and individualized plans, while upholding district policies.

Qualifications

• Must have Oklahoma Teaching Certificate for Elementary (K-5) Mild/Moderate.
• Must pass OSBI background check and maintain clearance.
• Computer literate with ability to email, create memos, and use internet for position duties.

Responsibilities

• Teach academic and functional skills to educationally and physically disabled students.
• Modify curriculum using various instructional techniques and technologies.
• Assess progress and provide reports to parents and professionals.
• Uphold school rules, maintain a conducive learning environment, and manage classroom discipline.
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development.
