Job summary

Fort Bend ISD is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for SAILS Elementary to deliver TEKS-aligned instruction and support students with disabilities in academic, behavior, and life skills. You will develop IEP goals, collaborate with families, and use assistive technologies to promote growth and independence.

Responsibilities include planning developmentally appropriate lessons, coordinating with a paraprofessional team, and documenting progress and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field is required.
• Texas teaching certification or eligibility required.
• Special Education EC-12 certification required.
• ABA training within one year of hire is expected.
• CPI de-escalation/restraint training preferred or required to obtain after hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction and related services in accordance with state/federal laws.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information.
• Collaborate with parents and staff to develop IEP goals aligned to TEKS.
• Plan lessons with accommodations/modifications for students with disabilities.
• Document student progress and maintain required records and data.
• Administer assessments and analyze results to guide instruction.
• Develop PLAAFP statements and annual IEP goals.
• Prepare engaging lesson plans aligned to student IEPs.
• Supervise paraprofessionals and volunteers as assigned.
• Utilize adaptive equipment and assistive technologies to support learning.
