Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas Special Education teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scholars, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through the ARD process for each scholar.
• Implement instructional or skill development programs for assigned scholars and show written evidence of preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials reflecting scholars' learning styles and needs.
• Work with teachers to modify regular curricula and assist scholars in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Assess scholar learning styles and plan instructional activities accordingly.
• Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques to meet individual needs.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned.
• Use technology in teaching/learning.
