Job summary

Redbird Elementary is seeking a fully certified teacher to lead Specialized Student Services in a dynamic classroom setting within Mesa Public Schools. You will translate curriculum standards into meaningful instruction and support students with diverse learning needs.

The role requires an Arizona teaching certificate, IEP experience, and collaboration with parents and staff to ensure high-quality education and compliance with district goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field.
• Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate, appropriate for subject area.
• Course work should include Foundations of special education, behavior management techniques, assessment and evaluation methods, instructional strategies for students with disabilities and inclusive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of subject matter, instructional skills, and resources.
• Uses a variety of effective instructional and management techniques.
• Prepares lesson plans and assessment documents aligned with IEP goals and objectives.
• Develops IEPs for students and implements related instructional plans and modifications.
• Maintains positive classroom environment and communicates with parents about progress.
