Job summary

Cleveland City Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide academic and behavior intervention for students with disabilities. You will work to support skill deficits, communication, and social development while ensuring IAIEP processes are followed.

The role requires a valid teaching license, strong interpersonal skills, and active collaboration with parents, principals, and specialists. You will participate in required trainings and maintain classroom standards.

Qualifications

• Valid teacher’s license with appropriate endorsement.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Meets health and physical qualifications.
• FLSA exempt.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all special education paperwork in a timely manner including IAIEP.
• Prepares progress reports for each grading period and sends report to parents.
• Administers tests and monitors students’ progress on a regular basis.
• Uses EasyIEP for the development of IAIEPs and other reports.
• Attends and chairs IAIEP and S-Team meetings and consults with parents and professionals.
• Works with educational assistants and provides direction and guidance.
• Implements intervention in skill deficit areas and behavioral supports.
• Completes Reevaluation Summary Report and related forms for review.
• Collaborates with Behavior Interventionists and follows BIP recommendations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
