Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Modify and adapt instructional delivery and materials to meet IEP goals and diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and plan lesson pacing.
• Communicate with parents, administrators, and specialists to plan IEP and Evaluation meetings.
• Serve as IEP facilitator and coordinate between special education and general education staff.
• Gather information and write or update IEP and progress data reports.
• Complete report cards and progress reports for each student.
• Identify and implement interventions for students needing support through Student Study Team processes.
• Maintain student data to track IEP goals and grading system updates.
• Attend professional meetings and trainings to maintain professional competence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year for our campus located in Florence, AZ. Candidates must be certified, highly qualified, and possess, or be willing to obtain, an Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Modify and adapt instructional delivery and materials in alignment with the adopted curriculum and IEPs to ensure access for students with diverse learning needs.
• Develop and implement approved lesson plans aligned to the adopted curriculum and collaborate with general education teachers to support lesson planning for inclusion students.
• Consistently communicate and correspond with parents, administrators, school psychologists and other professionals to set-up and plan IEP and Evaluation meetings.
• Act as IEP facilitator and collaborator between special ed. and regular education teachers.
• Gather relative information from team members and write, revise, or update IEP and existing data reports.
• Complete report cards and progress reports on each student’s progress.
• Assist other professional staff in identifying and implementing interventions for students identified in the Student Study Team process.
• Maintain appropriate student data in order to keep school-wide grading system up to date as well as data required to monitor IEP goal progress.
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences and training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Other duties as assigned.
