Job summary

The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) is seeking an Special Education Teacher- Elementary Emotional Support for the Child & Career Development Center- Engle Education Center Campus in West Grove, PA. This role supports students with intellectual disabilities and significant behavioral challenges within a collaborative educational team.

Responsibilities include planning curricula, developing IEPs, monitoring progress, and maintaining strong parental communication.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education required.
PDE certification in special education or willingness to become emergency certified required.
Experience modifying general education content to meet diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

Instruct individuals in special education skill areas.
Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and teaching methods.
Evaluate and monitor student progress based on classroom performance, test scores, and observation of behavior.
Support objectives and interventions of the educational program.
Maintain safe physical environment of the classroom.
Maintain contact with parents and professionals concerning student progress.
Develop IEPs addressing specific academic, behavioral, and speech needs.
Prepare report cards, educational records, and documentation; participate as a member of the treatment/IEP team.
