Job summary

The Cheltenham School District announces the following contract professional employee teaching position available for the 2026-2027 school year:

Position: Special Education Teacher (Life Skills)

Location: Glenside Elementary School

Requirements:

• Valid PA Instructional I or II Special Education Certification required;
• Additional certificate in Elementary Education(K-6, Reading Specialist) and Autism Endorsement(preferred)
• Experienced teaching in a low-incidence of Life Skills Classroom and Autistic Support classroom (preferred)
• Experience supporting students with behavioral, academic, communication, and functional needs related to Autism(preferred)

Skills:

• Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the various needs of students in the classroom
• Experience with behavior management and implementation of positive behavior support plans
• Understanding of applied behavior analysis(preferred)

External candidates: If hired, you will be required to provide Acts 34, 114, and 151 clearances and other mandatory employment forms.
