Job Description

Certificates and Licenses: Alabama K-6 Special Education Teaching Certificate

Residency Requirements: Alabama

The salary for this position is $44,000 along with the opportunity to earn an annual bonus.

Start Date - July 17, 2025

The Teacher is a highly qualified, state certified educator responsible for delivering specific course content in an online environment. Teachers provide instruction, support, and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs. Teachers monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system. They work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to support student learning goals. Teachers typically work from home but must travel occasionally for school functions, such as state testing.

Position Details

This is a full-time position requiring the ability to work independently for 40+ hours per week, maintaining a professional home office environment during standard hours (e.g., 8-5). The role may require travel up to 20% for professional development and testing.

Essential Functions
  • Provide all special education and related services as per IEPs
  • Communicate with parents and related staff about therapies and services
  • Develop and maintain compliant IEPs and documentation
  • Lead collaborative IEP meetings
  • Use resources to support accommodations and modifications
  • Ensure inclusion and monitor progress towards IEP goals
  • Maintain documentation of contacts and interventions
  • Analyze data to inform instruction and provide engaging learning experiences
  • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate regularly
  • Support families with curricular and technical issues
  • Travel up to 20% for school-related activities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Active state teaching license
  • Ability to clear background check

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
