Job summary

Oak Hill United School Corporation seeks a Special Education Instructional Assistant for Sweetser Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. The role provides instructional and behavioral support to students with disabilities under the direction of special education teachers and school administrators.

This part-time school-year position (29.5 hours/week) starts in August 2026, with a salary of $15.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree or 48 college credit hours preferred but not required.
• Experience working with children, particularly students with disabilities, is preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist students individually and in small groups with academic tasks and instructional activities.
• Support the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the direction of certified staff.
• Reinforce instructional concepts and accommodations as directed by the special education teacher.
• Assist with behavior management strategies and social-emotional skill development.
• Monitor and supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and other school settings.
• Collect and maintain student data as directed.
• Assist students with organizational skills, transitions, and daily routines.
• Support students with personal care needs when necessary.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with classroom organization.
• Participate in professional development and training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or supervising teacher.
