Qualifications

  • Valid state certification in Special Education.
  • Knowledge of IDEA, IEPs, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting diverse learners in K-8 settings.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with IDEA and state regulations.
  • Provide direct instruction using evidence-based strategies.
  • Adapt curriculum and materials to meet individual needs.
  • Collaborate with general education staff for inclusion and accommodations.
  • Collect and maintain data on student progress and performance.
  • Participate in IEP, eligibility, and problem-solving meetings.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding progress and concerns.
  • Implement behavior supports and provide social-emotional supports.
  • Consult with related service providers (speech, OT, PT, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with timelines and legal requirements.
  • Supervise paraprofessionals when assigned.
  • Engage in professional development and staff meetings.
