Job summary

LABBB Educational Collaborative in Burlington, MA is seeking an Elementary School Special Education Teacher Assistant to support students with significant disabilities in a multi-grade classroom at Memorial Elementary School. You will assist in implementing lessons, employing assistive devices, and supporting IEPs and behavior plans under licensed staff supervision.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with a preference for higher education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience working with children, young adults, or in human services related field.
• Ability to work with students with diverse disabilities including behavioral and non-verbal needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with arrival and departure of students.
• Support data-driven instruction and implementation of IEPs and behavior plans.
• Follow assigned schedule and reassign as needed.
• Prepare instructional materials as directed by the teacher.
• Support students' independence, social awareness, and language development.
• Collect and share student data with the team.
• Utilize adaptive equipment for individual students.
• Communicate significant occurrences to the supervisor promptly.
• Uphold LABBB values and adhere to policies and laws.
• Assist with ADLs and mobility as needed.
• Supervise students in various settings including lunch and community.
