Job summary

Fort Bend ISD is seeking a dedicated Teacher Special Education for Elementary School CLASS Plus to support students with disabilities in an inclusive setting. The role focuses on developing social skills, independence, and prosocial behaviors to aid transitions into adulthood.

Responsibilities include creating IEP goals, coordinating with parents and staff, implementing individualized curriculums, and monitoring progress with data.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Texas Education Agency teaching certification EC-6.
• Special Education Certification EC-12 or Special Education Specialist Certification EC-12.
• De-Escalation/Restraint Certification (CPI) preferred or required.
• ABA training within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Develop clear, measurable IEP goals aligned with TEKS in collaboration with parents and school personnel.
• Plan and implement curriculum with accommodations/modifications for students with disabilities.
• Document progress with logs, data collection, and progress updates on IEP targets and behavior.
• Administer and analyze student assessments, including state/district tests and informal assessments.
• Create PLAAFP statements and annual goals based on assessment results.
• Prepare lesson plans aligned to IEPs and general curriculum with appropriate supports.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to coordinate academic plans.
• Utilize ARD-documented adaptive/assistive tech to support learning and communication.
• Implement behavioral strategies per ARD, including safe restraint when necessary.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

Texas Education Agency teaching certification (EC-6)

Special Education Certification EC-12

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training
