Job summary

Fort Bend ISD is seeking a dedicated Elementary School Special Education teacher for the CLaSS program for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on supporting students with disabilities in inclusive settings and enhancing social and communication skills.

The teacher will develop IEP goals, adapt curriculum, and monitor progress using data. Collaboration with parents and staff is essential, with required TX teaching and SPED certifications and ABA training within one year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
• Valid Teaching Certification issued by TEA for the assignment.
• Valid Special Education EC-12 or EC-12(Special Education Specialist) certification.
• ABA training within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with parents and school teams to develop measurable IEP goals aligned with TEKS.
• Plan and implement curriculum with appropriate accommodations and modifications.
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records and data logs.
• Administer and analyze state and district assessments and progress data.
• Develop PLAAFPs and annual goals based on assessment results.
• Prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned to IEPs.
• Utilize ARD-approved adaptive technology to support learning and communication.
• Coordinate with general education staff to implement interventions for academics and social/behavioral skills.
• Provide staff training on implementing social and behavioral supports for CLaSS students.
• Supervise paraprofessionals and contribute to performance evaluations.
