Job summary

Christina School District seeks an Elementary Special Education Teacher for Oberle Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. Position requires dual certification in Elementary and Special Education and the ability to manage the classroom and student needs.

The role is a 10-month assignment with a district salary schedule based on experience and degree. A $3,500 sign-on bonus is offered, payable in two installments, subject to withholdings.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for State of Delaware Dual Teacher Certification - Elementary Education and Special Education Certification
• Must be able to stand and work continuously for a minimum of 4 hours per workday
• Minimum lifting requirements- 50 pounds (with assistance)
• Must be able to use arms and hands without restrictions to accommodate the physical, mobility, and ambulatory needs of students.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned classes using the educational philosophy and policies adopted by the Board of Education.
• Utilizes State and District curriculum guidelines in carrying out teaching assignments.
• Interprets and uses data from a variety of educational sources for the improvement of instruction.
• Monitors the physical environment taking into account the health, safety, and aesthetic needs of students.
• Keeps accurate records and makes reports as necessary.
• Meets responsibilities as per contractual agreement and State law.
