Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an Elementary School Special Education Resource Teacher to provide instruction for diverse learners in Kanawha County Schools. The role focuses on meeting grade-level targets and state standards within a 200-day calendar.

You will collaborate with general and special education staff, use technology to support learning, and implement personalized plans, consistent with WV policies and district expectations.

Qualifications

• Valid teaching certificate licensing to teach in the specializations and grade levels.
• Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18-5-15c and/or §18A-3-10, as appropriate.
• Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Plan and implement standards-based curriculum based on WV Content Standards and Objectives.
• Implement adopted and supplemental academic programs.
• Incorporate 21st century technology skills.
• Plan and implement collaborative model with special education students and teachers.
• May plan and implement designated co-curricular activities and field trips.
• Be accountable for individual student achievement.
• Plan and implement personalized learning for all students.
• Maintain strong communication with students, parents and peers.
• Willing to implement programs designated by principal for school improvement.
• Maintain classroom control and safety.
• Perform supervisory duties as assigned by Principal.
