Job summary

Hampshire Regional School District invites applications for an Elementary Paraprofessional at William E. Norris School in Southampton, MA. This 0.85 FTE position supports students with IEPs, delivering instructional and behavioral assistance.

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma.
Experience working with young people both with and without disabilities.
Experience supporting students with severe disabilities preferred.
District CORI Check required before employment begins.
Federal Fingerprint Check required before employment begins.

Responsibilities

Assists professional personnel in instructional assignments for students with special needs in all subjects areas at all levels.
Sets up work areas and prepares educational materials.
Assists students working on individualized and specialized programs.
Assists both individual and small groups of students in instructional and social situations within the school setting.
General supervision of students as assigned within the school setting.
Monitors indoor and outdoor recreational activities.
Performs record keeping for tasks such as student progress records and behavior modification plans.
Assists with evaluation of student progress.
Communicates with appropriate school staff about individual student needs while maintaining confidentiality.
