Job summary

Clayton County Public Schools – Lake Ridge Elementary in Riverdale, Georgia is seeking a Paraprofessional (Special Education) to provide one-on-one and small group instructional support for exceptional education students at the elementary level.

Under supervision, you will assist classroom teachers with instructional activities, prepare materials, and help with behavior management and routine tasks to ensure student success.

Qualifications

• Requires Paraprofessional License or eligibility; Certification Team will apply upon hire.
• Bilingual/bicultural experience may be required for certain positions.

Responsibilities

• Provides one-on-one support to selected students in resource, self-contained, and regular classrooms.
• Conducts small group or individual activities per lesson plans.
• Assists with preparation of instructional materials and grading.
• Assists with routine record keeping and school-wide supervision (bus loading/unloading).
• Performs duties to meet the needs of students (e.g., lifting, toileting/personal hygiene, behavior management).

Skills

Paraprofessional experience

Bilingual or bicultural experience

Education

Associate’s degree or higher (GaPSC-accepted)

Two years of college coursework (60 sem/90 quarter hours)

Passed GACE Paraprofessional Assessment

High school diploma or GED
