Job summary

Bridge Prep seeks a School Social Worker to join our Student Support Team on Staten Island. The role focuses on social-emotional learning, student advocacy, and collaboration with school leaders to support students’ academic and personal growth.

Responsibilities include IEP counseling, crisis intervention, family linkage to resources, and documenting progress while engaging with staff and families in a collaborative, student-centered environment.

Qualifications

• School Social Work Certification is required.
• LMSW or LCSW license preferred or encouraged.
• Experience with child development and interventions in underserved communities.
• Experience in elementary school settings or with elementary-aged children.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling and IEP-mandated services.
• Collaborate with Assistant Principal of Student Support and Principal to address student and school-wide issues.
• Link families to community resources with the Family Coordinator.
• Offer crisis intervention, referrals, and case management.
• Conduct home visits as needed and complete required documentation.
