Southern Avenue Charter School in Memphis, TN is seeking a passionate 3rd Grade Science Teacher to deliver hands-on science aligned with Tennessee Academic Standards. The teacher will foster inquiry, collaboration, and a positive classroom culture.

You will differentiate instruction for diverse learners, use data to inform planning, integrate STEM concepts, and collaborate with staff to support student achievement and family engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or closely related field required.
• Valid Tennessee Teaching License with Elementary Education endorsement.
• Demonstrated knowledge of elementary science instruction and Tennessee Academic Standards.
• Strong classroom management and instructional planning skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively use student achievement data to guide instructional decisions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver hands-on science instruction aligned with Tennessee Academic Standards.
• Develop engaging lessons promoting inquiry, observation, and problem-solving.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs including IEPs, 504s, and ELs.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor progress and adjust instruction.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, coaches, and administrators to improve outcomes.
• Communicate regularly with parents about progress and expectations.
